Passan Controllers

The basic Passan 1104/501 controller can control 2 channels, a channel provides an input connection for a reader, request to exit button and lock output relay.

Each controller can be expanded to control up to 6 channels using plug in modules. The 1104/534 is a 2 channel plug in module that controls channels 3 and 4 and the 1104/556 controls channels 5 and 6.

The plug in modules simply "piggy back" each other building a 6 channel controller if required. To increase reader management capacity you can connect up to 32 controllers managing 192 channels in total.

Using plug in modules the controller acts as a carrier to build a system designed to each site's requirement. Each controller has a unique physical address set by using Dip switches.
The controller can also be set to commissioning mode using a Dip switch. In this temporary mode the controller will automatically recognise any FDI tokens with no additional set up or programming.

The controller's plug in flash memory module stores the database and firmware. The flash memory is updated by the PC software creating a backup, it's possible to restore PC data from the flash memory. A removable dongle ensures security of the network controllers. The PC can only be connected to the network controller which has the yellow dongle fitted.
