Adding value to your access control system

Air Locking Doors: For security or Health and Safety reasons you may wish to have strict control over who can progress through a set of interacting doors to ensure that staff or visitors cannot progress through a second door until the first door is fully closed.

Access control systems do not normally provide airlock control functionality as standard and a separate control unit may therefore have to be purchased. An additional power supply may also have to be supplied and installed. This could be at a cost of several hundred pounds.

Passan provides a low cost solution: An input card added to a Passan door controller can achieve the same results as a standalone airlock control unit. Working with standard monitored locks, just two inputs need to be programmed, via Passan's easy to use software, to ensure that the opening of the second door is validated by the confirmed closure of the first.

Did you know? – the provision of emergency door opening could not be simpler with a Passan access control system.

Green break glass boxes, PA (panic attack) buttons, key switches or a direct relay from a fire alarm panel can all via a Passan input card be easily configured to trigger the opening of doors.

A Passan 1104/508 input card, which has eight inputs, added to a Passan door controller, will allow individual or groups of doors to be programmed to automatically open in the event of an incident.

Depending on the incident there may be a need to release the door mechanism on all exits in a building or perhaps on just one floor for zone control. Whatever the requirement,
Passan’s user friendly software ensures that installers can effortlessly programme an input card to match a client’s exact requirements.
